Körber Technologies, Inc., a Sales and Service Company serving the North American Tobacco Industry, has an outstanding career opportunity available for a Lead Buyer to join our team. As a Lead Buyer, you will be working in the Purchasing department, coordinating and managing functional teams of operational buyers, with the goal of collaboratively implementing supplier strategies and positively influencing the total cost of ownership (TCO) and results for the suppliers under responsibility, aligning with set goals and KPIs.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will develop and establish new supplier relationships: Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers to expand the supplier base. Conduct thorough assessments of their capabilities, quality standards, and financial stability. Negotiate initial terms and integrate new suppliers into the procurement process to ensure they meet company requirements and contribute effectively to achieving strategic objectives.
  • You will develop and implement aligned supplier strategies: Initiate, design, and drive projects for demand consolidation, sourcing shifts, process improvements and cost reduction measures.
  • You will create innovative negotiation concepts and strategies; Plan and conduct tenders, and lead price and contract negotiations with suppliers, culminating in contract agreements.
  • You will engage in active supplier management and budget responsibility: Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers in accordance with category strategies and goals/KPIs, in collaboration with Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM) and, if applicable, with technical, quality, and logistics functions.
  • You will participate in international category teams: Engage in procurement-related activities within the Körber Group, particularly in the Tobacco and KAG categories.
  • You will monitor supplier-specific total cost approach (TCO): Track quality, logistics, and cost aspects, including reporting, and initiate necessary clarification, escalation, and corrective actions.
  • You will support operational procurement: Assist with supplier-related disruptions.
  • You will negotiate, critically assess, and align overarching framework agreements.
  • You will perform additional duties as assigned: Take on special tasks, such as participating in projects and improve processes.

 

Your profile

  • You have an Associate’s Degree in related technical field or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • You have 5-7 years of experience in procurement.
  • You must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and understand the requirements for category Electrical.
  • You have SAP knowledge and MS – Office required, especially in MS Excel. Other languages is a plus.
