Hauni Richmond, Inc., a Sales and Service Company serving the North American Tobacco Industry, has an outstanding career opportunity available for a Director, Services to join our team. As the company’s Director, Services you will lead, guide and direct managers and supervisors in functional areas of responsibility (Order Processing Management/Spares, Technical Service, Maintenance Services and Sales Manager, Services), and ensure ongoing professional development of employees. You will maintain necessary programs to ensure continuous improvement of processes and procedures in areas of responsibility. You are responsible for all market activities for after-sales products. You will organize, lead and control all spare parts and service product sales in a manner that will achieve the highest standing within the industry, while maintaining quality and cost consciousness. 


Your role in our team

  • You will oversee, direct and control the day-to-day operations in the area of responsibility to ensure highest customer satisfaction.
  • You will modify and develop processes and procedures to changing market requirements and/or to improve cost effectiveness.
  • You are responsible for the coordination of all market activities such as parts, sales of services, technical service customer visits, product promotions and introduction of new after-sales products.
  • You will ensure that customer complaints or other concerns are addressed promptly and replied to within the specified deadline with timely escalation if necessary.
  • You will visit customers with account representatives/Sales Manager, Services on a regular basis to maintain and increase customer relations, conduct sales negotiations, and provide consultations to customers on all service products.
  • You will ensure that the customers are informed promptly and to the needed extent about technical changes and obsolete parts.
  • You will promote technical change requests within the organization.
  • You will formulate market-specific requirements and identify new growth opportunities with a view to developing and marketing new service products and generating sales.
  • You will determine the customers’ needs and product requirements.
  • You will be responsible for local incoming orders and sales of service products, preparation of all necessary data for the yearly budget and quarterly projection process.
  • You will report on all relevant activities, performing profitability analyses and monitoring the development of sales/costs in the US market, involving regular coordination with the Service Unit headquarters in Hamburg.
  • You will provide an interface to the central support functions at the Hamburg headquarters, and to the sales companies worldwide.
  • You will establish and attain department objectives that reflect company goals. You will monitor strategic projects within area of responsibility.
  • You will be responsible for the management and development of assigned managers and employees.


Your profile

  • You have a B.A. or B.S. degree in Business Administration or Engineering – a Master’s degree is beneficial.
  • You have experience working in the U.S. market with profound knowledge in after-sales market.
  • You have at least ten years’ experience working in the U.S. market with at least seven years of experience in after-sales market.
  • You have a solid understanding of complex equipment manufacturing and the requirements for this type of machinery in the After-Sales and Service market and experience in organization(s) with a global matrix structure.
  • You have hands-on experience in an established business with multi-product line offerings is preferred.
  • You have good ability for budget reports and analyses, inventory, sales and other market data.
  • You have experience and feel comfortable managing a large team composed of Order Processing Management/Spares, Technical Service, Maintenance Services, and Sales Manager, Services.
  • You have at least five years supervisory experience and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Your strong analytical and computer skills (MS Office) including SAP is a plus.
  • You are effective in customer relations at all levels (executive and floor operations), demonstrate an excellent work ethic, and possess highly developed organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • You work independently.
  • You have the personal and professional ability to lead people and supervisors/managers.
