Electrical Design Engineer

Hauni Richmond, Inc., a Sales and Service Company serving the North American Tobacco Industry, has an outstanding career opportunity available for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be working in the Engineering department with the Manager, Electrical Engineering and your colleagues to perform hardware-technical order construction and further development of complex assemblies and machines for the tobacco processing industry.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will be responsible for the independent creation of requirement and service descriptions (e.g. requirement and functional specification)
  • You will be responsible for concept development (e.g. new control cabinet architecture)
  • You will be responsible for independent design machine electrical control system on hardware selection according its market standard (NEC, CSA, IEC, etc.); control panel layout 
  • You will recognize and solve electrical/control hardware problems, in-house or at the customer's site 
  • You will provide technical guidance to the Level B Electrical Engineers
  • You have the ability to work independently with an analytical, structured work style
  • You produce and provide high-quality work
  • You have strong communication skills and ability to present your solutions from an assembly and cost perspective; both excellent written and verbal English skills are necessary in this role
  • You have the ability to work in a team

 

Your profile

  • In design discussions, you can present your solutions from an assembly and cost perspective
  • You have good written and spoken English skills as well as confident use of MS Office, SAP and ELCAD.
  • If you have knowledge of Eplan, it is a plus
  • You look forward to occasional business trips to international machine locations
  • You have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and at least six years’ working experience in complex machine control field.
  • You have a proficiency for Siemens, Bechhoff, AMK drive systems. Experience from previous training as an electrical appliance mechanic / power plant electronics technician is desirable
  • You have proficiency in manufacturer ERP system, SAP is also highly desirable.
  • You are fluent with MS Word, MSOffice, SAP, ELCAD, Excel, Project, PPT, Visio is also necessary
  • You work with a safety orientation at all times
  • You are team oriented and able to work well with all levels of personnel (sales, purchasing, assembly, upper management, etc.)
