Solution Engineer - Connectivity Mid
We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy Solution Engineer to strengthen our Team, focusing on Machine Connectivity across the IT/OT layer. In this role, you will help close the gap between operational technology (OT) on the shop floor and information technology (IT) in the cloud — enabling scalable IIoT use cases through modern Edge and Cloud technologies. It's an ideal opportunity for young professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving industrial environment.
Your role in our team
- Support the design, development, and rollout of machine connectivity solutions and blueprints bridging the IT/OT layer.
- Contribute to R&D activities within the CoE, exploring the latest trends in IIoT, Edge, and Cloud computing.
- Help build and maintain technical documentation — including connectivity blueprints, integration guides, project reports, and training materials.
- Co-organize workshops and knowledge-exchange sessions to spread best practices around IT/OT integration across the organization.
- Collaborate with peers across business units on joint IIoT and connectivity initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on project planning, execution, and rollout of connectivity use cases.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the CoE team as needed.
Your profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of IIoT, Cloud, and Edge computing concepts, ideally in an industrial (IT/OT) context.
- Programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Readiness to quickly climb the steep learning curve of our Edge and IIoT technology stack.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering real user value.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, international team environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Hands-on exposure to Cloud platforms (Azure or similar).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Understanding of industrial protocols (OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP, MQTT).
- Knowledge of computer networks and network protocols.
- Experience in Linux administration and maintenance.
