Job purpose:
To ramp up the Körber PAS-X MES and related solution software sales in the Japan Pharmaceutical and Biotech market.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all activities, plans and actions to meet Sales target to grow Koerber Japan business.
- Sales Manager responsible for all sales to local clients in Japan in collaboration with global and regional sales staff and partners.
- Sales Manager to maintain good business partnerships, to support the development of deployment contracts in collaboration with global and regional sales staff and partners.
- Provide MES solution proposal and advice for the client with professional skills of MES technical knowledge and pharmaceutical production process knowledge.
- Cross communication and create valuable relationships with the client and partners.
- Participation for Pharmaceutical related society as representative of Koerber Japan if required.
- Update SAP System to reflect all order potential and quote information including scheduling, order income date, shipping date and delivery date and control open inquiries and quotations.
- Manage invoice and cost payment on monthly basis
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer pain points across the pharmaceutical shop floor (Manufacturing, QA, QC, Production Technology, IT) and translate them into MES value propositions.
- Understand the overall manufacturing IT/OT landscape, including SCADA, DCS, Historian, LIMS, ERP, and position MES within the customer’s digital transformation roadmap.
- Develop account strategies involving multiple stakeholders (Plant leadership including Project Manager, QA, IT, Procurement, and Global HQ organizations) to influence decision-making and drive opportunities forward.
- Lead the overall proposal process—including value-based proposals, business cases, and solution presentations—together with pre‑sales and delivery teams.
- Collaborate with SI partners, equipment vendors, and consulting partners to build a system for successful project execution.
- Drive pipeline creation, forecast accuracy, and opportunity progression using structured sales methodologies.
- Promote Koerber’s MES value propositions through industry associations, forums, and external events to enhance market awareness and influence.
Knowledge/Experience/Qualification:
- Technical college/University degree, Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or proven equivalent Degree qualification and/or practical experience.
- At least 2 years of direct experience as a sales/consultant/technical role in the domain of MES, DCS, ERP, LIMS, eQMS, SCADA or Pharma related equipments.
- Fundamental understanding of commercial contracts, including terms & conditions, scopes, deliverables, pricing structures, and risks associated with software and system integration projects.
- Strong presentation, documentation, and communication skills to lead structured discussions with customers.
Nice to have:
- Practical understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (aseptic, solid, biotech, API) and production workflows.
- Experience in selling or supporting large-scale IT/OT transformation projects in regulated industries (pharma, medical device, chemical, food).
- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders from operational staff to senior executives and global corporate teams.
- Knowledge of GxP, CSV (Computerized System Validation), and Data Integrity principles is highly desirable.
Preferable Technical skills:
- Understanding of MES, DCS, ERP, LIMS, eQMS, SCADA, and/or manufacturing IT systems in the Pharma domain.
- Experienced in generating bid, RFP/RFI, URS response, tender documents and lead all acquisition activities for new proposals from a technical and commercial perspective.
- A good knowledge in industry relevant consulting areas, regulatory topic and other business process focused software (e.g: ERP, LIMS, eQMS, SCADA/DCS).
- End-to-end understanding of the pharmaceutical shop floor system architecture, including MES, SCADA/DCS, Historian, LIMS, ERP, and QMS, along with their typical data flows and integration points.
- Ability to analyze customer workflows, identify digitalization opportunities, and design To‑Be process concepts centered around MES.
- Familiarity with CSV risk-based approaches and the ability to propose realistic implementation strategies.
- Experience conducting workshops, discovery sessions, system demos, and conceptual design discussions with customers.
- Understanding of data integrity, electronic records/electronic signatures, and regulatory expectations impacting manufacturing systems.
