Business Development Manager Managed Services for Pharma and Life Science Software

Our Global Services Organization combines and orchestrates all services to implement Körbers business leading MES software to the pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing industry. We take care for seamless implementation based on industry standard project management methods and delivery models. Project performance and customer satisfaction are key.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth and strategic implementation of Managed Services for Pharma and Life Science sectors, especially for our core product PAS-X MES. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Managed Services strategy, overseeing financial performance, and driving customer engagement and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in MES, Managed Services, and business development within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.

 

Your role in our team

 

In your role as Business Development Manager, you will oversee the following strategic key responsibilities:

  • You will implement and refine our strategy to transform our service portfolio towards managed services, tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical and life sciences clients
  • You analyse and conceptualize new service offerings based on the existing services portfolio, develop an approach to bundle and transform corresponding services, resulting in managed services that can be delivered by Körber Pharma Software globally
  • Create a financial / pricing model to transform one-off services into re-curring payment models within the shift to managed services
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities related to managed services, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including revenue, margins, and cost optimization, to senior management.
  • You will develop well-founded business cases and scenario analyses (e.g. investment calculations, ROI assessments) for managed services
  • Identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships with prospective customers, partners, and stakeholders in the Pharma & Life Science sector

 

You will further support in activities shaping and marketing the managed services portfolio:

 

  • You will gain in-depth knowledge of country-specific markets, competition and business models, thereby supporting our strategic goal of establishing a managed services offering
  • Collaborate with technical, sales, and operations teams to design service offerings that meet regulatory and industry requirements
  • You will initiate and oversee strategic projects at global and regional level, from analysis and concept development through to commercial proposals, and support clients through their transition to managed services, including onboarding, change management and ongoing support.
  • You will help translate market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in Pharma MES into opportunities and risks, including concrete strategic recommendations for action, and initiatives
  • You will support marketing activities including providing clear storylines, data-driven arguments and value propositions 
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote managed services offerings.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.

 

Your profile

  • You have a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, International Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, managed services, or MES within the Pharma or Life Science industry
  • You have experience managing complex, international programs, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry with a background in consulting, private equity or strategy departments and hold a project management certification (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2)
  • Deep understanding of MES platforms, managed services models, and industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, FDA, EMA).
  • Proven track record of developing and executing business strategies that drive growth and profitability
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client engagements and industry events.
