General Purpose:

Responsible for independently working on multiple aspects of manufacturing packaging machinery including creating drawings, designing parts, programming CNC mills, running CNC vertical mills, and assisting in assembly. Gains hands on experience in the manufacturing industry while using and applying concepts learned through education. 


Essential Functions:

  • Assembles mechanical and electrical assemblies to meet specifications and functionality 
  • Routes hoses and wires using technical knowledge for correct functionality 
  • Confers with technician(s) in charge of project and Validation Engineer on recommendations in mechanical and electrical design changes 
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to technician(s) in charge 
  • Provides production support to the machining area and the assembly area 
  • Supports prototyping activities of new product development 
  • Performs general diagnosis, testing, and repairs 
  • Uses Pro/E to model parts and assemblies 
  • Uses Pro/E to draft detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products 
  • Makes adjustments to drawings through red lining and returns them to engineers for corrections 
  • Operates CNC mill, manual mill, saws, and other equipment to machine/modify parts for fabrication of machinery 
  • Ensures a quality cosmetic appearance upon completion 
  • Packs and crates parts and machinery carefully for shipment

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area everyday 
  • Shows a strong eagerness to learn and a positive attitude everyday 
  • Attends and participates in company meetings when available 


Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Displays entry level skill in Pro/Engineer software 
  • Demonstrates computer literacy with MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Outlook 
  • Demonstrates a brilliant imagination 
  • Capable of designing new concepts and standards 
  • Displays great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Displays great attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Shows organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Shows knowledge of production and assembly techniques 
  • Ability to solve practical problems 
  • Exhibits troubleshooting skills, both mechanical and electrical 
  • Ability to read technical drawings 
  • Exhibit following instructions with precision 


Working Environment:

  • Works in an office environment
  • Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, sharp tools, jagged material, aluminum and plastic shavings, and machinery that has moving parts


Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to forty pounds
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Ability to focus on computer screen for long periods of time
  • Requires regularly reaching, bending and moving about the facility
