The buyer is responsible for negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining inventory, processing purchase orders, quality assurance, and acting as liaison between inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions.

Your role in our team

  • You will research, select and purchase quality equipment, products and materials
  • You will build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
  • You will process requisitions and update management on status of orders
  • You will update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
  • You will arrange transportation of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
  • You will analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
  • You will coordinate with material management team and departments as required
  • You will assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
  • You will produce and report inputs and KPI’s as needed


Your profile

  • You have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • You have gained three years’ relatable experience
  • You have excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)
  • You are proficient in electronic data interchange or related software
  • You have strong negotiation skills
  • You have the ability to think critically
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You have solid analytical skills


Your working environment:

  • You will work in an office environment
  • You will be exposed to shop elements such as loud noises, dust, fumes, odors, heat and cold
  • You will regularly be required to sit or stand, and move about the facility
  • You will be required to be able to read documents and computer screens for a long period of time
