The controls designer is responsible for creating electrical and pneumatic schematics and electrical panel layouts for packaging machinery, within a given timeframe, that meets the customer’s specifications using creativity and innovation.

Your role in our team

• You will specify electrical components
• You will design electrical schematics and control panel layouts using EPLAN software
• You will design the machine safety systems
• You will develop standards for panel design, layout and wiring
• You will apply electrical standards compliant to all appropriate national and international standards (including, but not limited to: UL, NEC, EE, CE, IEE, CSA, etc.)
• You will manage the electrical panel construction area keeping it safe, efficient, and organized
• You will develop solutions to improve the controls design process
• You will provide suggestions for design improvements or changes during all phases of machine design
• You will assist with electrical troubleshooting during machine power up and debugging
• You will validate the machine electrical system in preparation for factory acceptance testing
• You will communicate and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner 

Your profile

• You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Your experience with electrical design software is preferred (EPLAN, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Your experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• You have the ability to travel to the customer site
