Your role in our team

  • You will oversee engineering to ensure consistency throughout design of each system and between projects
  • You will schedule department resources and project future head count needs
  • You will ensure active projects are on track to meet scheduled milestones
  • You will review and approve customer requirements for proposed projects
  • You will estimate labor and material costs for controls, programming, and technical writing for quoting purposes
  • You will provide support to department teams that are using the following tools: AB Studio 5000, FTView, B&R Automation Studio, Alphagate java-based HMI software, and Eplan
  • You will perform liaison function between Electrical Engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvements
  • You will provide suggestions for design improvements during all phases of machine development
  • You will determine preferred vendors based on parts they supply or propose to supply
  • You will ensure programming, controls design procedures and technical document design standards are met and maintained
  • You will ensure quality procedures are defined and followed according to ISO guidelines
  • You will recruit and assess new personnel within the department
  • You will support on-boarding new members of the department
  • You will build, develop and manage personnel to be a world class team
  • You will communicate and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner
  • You will travel to the customer’s facility for meetings and attend trade shows as necessary
  • You will schedule and hold departmentwide meetings
  • You wiil advocate for maintaining a clean and safe work area everyday

Your profile

  • You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent required
  • You have a minimum of four years automation engineering experience with AB Studio 5000, FTView, B&R Automation Studio, and robotics or similar required
  • You have management experience is preferred
  • You have experience within the automation industry or a manufacturing environment is preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • You have familiarity with programming languages a plus (Java, Python, C++, C#, VB)
  • You have knowledge of packaging processes
  • You have the ability to interpret complex documents and drawings
  • You have the ability to make effective and persuasive arguments
  • You have the ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 – 2 year time span
  • You displays great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to get results through others
  • You demonstrate to be a strong team player
  • You have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • You have computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • You have ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal)
  • You show a commitment to company values and vision
  • You have strong customer focus
  • You have the ability to travel up to 10%
