The Head of Machining will be responsible for overseeing all processes in the machining department including CNC programming, machining, and material preparation. Responsible for overall performance of Machining department with capacity planning and alignment with other departments to meet customer requirements.

Your role on our team

  • You will communicate reliable due dates with other departments to ensure quality and project schedules are met
  • You will monitor progress of parts to make sure deadlines are met
  • You will set-up and maintain KPI’s to measure overall performance as well as quality
  • You will implement improvement activities based on KPI’s reflecting the process performance
  • You will implement necessary efficiency and output improvements in overall cycle time (with respect to set-up time and costs), tooling life vs cost, etc.
  • You will monitor ROI for machines
  • You will set-up and maintain quality management and control processes with appropriate documentation
  • You will display leadership qualities through attitude, loyalty, and work ethic towards the company and the employees
  • You will set-up, roll-out and control of preventive maintenance plan for machines and equipment in use
  • You will ensure maintenance activities are documented properly
  • You will create/edit/maintain essential documentation
  • You will monitor tooling and inventory levels
  • You will schedule and hold periodic machining department meeting
  • You will review employees in the machining department and correct poor behavior
  • You will support less-experience machinists
  • You will serve as the technical resource for the machining operations
  • You will counsel mechanical designers with design principles to reduce cycle times
  • You will manage capital equipment projects
  • You will maintain state of the art technologies and machining processes
  • You will ensure compliance with all safety standards
  • You will travel to training courses as necessary


Your profile

  • You have obtained an Associates degree in Machining OR Bachelor’s degree in Production Technology or the equivalent
  • You have gained a minimum of three years manufacturing experience
  • You are experienced in CNC programming, preferred 
  • You have the ability to read 2D-drawings and understand 3D-models
  • You have knowledge of CNC programming and machining
  • You have knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • You show leadership skills and the ability to collaborate well with others
  • You have the ability to establish and form working teams
  • You have the ability to analyze technical complex problems and extended data
  • You exhibit clear verbal and written communication skills
  • You exhibit following written/verbal instructions with precision
  • You have the ability to organize and plan ahead
  • You display self-motivation and a keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills
  • You have the ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments
