We have a full-time position available for an experienced Technical Writer working Remotely in the United States or Canada. You will be responsible for writing technical documentation for Körber Supply Chain solutions. You will be focused on content for our customer’s IT staff, expert-level technical users, and ‘Citizen Developers’ employed by our customers. You will also participate in daily scrums working directly with developers, QA specialists, and product managers.

As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering. Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.

 

 

 

Your Role On Our Team

 

  • You will ensure a superior and continuously improving level of product and documentation quality

  • You are skilled at translating technical and functional information for appropriate audiences

  • You have an understanding of information architecture concepts and how to apply the concepts to site maps and organization schemes and structures

  • You have experience working with software developers to document code samples, API references, and technical implementation guides. Will also collaborate with the software developers to ensure documentation for all products are ready for on-schedule delivery

  • You will develop and continually improve reference manuals, diagrams, user guides, online content, release notes, and more

  • You will coordinate documentation with geographically distributed product managers, developers, and QA specialists

  • You will manage the documentation set using version control

  • You will prepare all documentation for release

  • You will continually recommend process improvements and best practices

 

Your Profile

 

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7+ years of technical experience

  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe RoboHelp

  • You have proven technical acumen with:

    • JSON and JSON schema definitions

    • Consuming HTTP/REST APIs

    • TypeScript or JavaScript

    • VSCode or Visual Studio

    • Git version control (e.g. GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)

    • Markdown based documentation

    • Operating systems including Unix, Windows, and Mac O/S

    • Markup languages such as HTML or XML

  • You have experience working with relational database and creating database data dictionary documentation

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • You demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, often under deadlines, and work independently

  • You have experience working remotely with proven productivity and independence

  • Experience working with process flow diagrams to create written content a plus
