Tissue Converting Mechanical Process Technician - Fabio Perini

This cross functional position will support our primary objective of increasing our customer’s operational efficiency primarily but not limited to our Canadian customers. The Mechanical /Process Technician is responsible for repairing and optimizing the runnability of Perini/MTC converting lines. This requires combination of 60% field-based work and 40% office work. This role will functionally report to the Technical Service Department Manager at Körber Tissue, but may be assigned to other departments for project- based work when needed.

Your role in our team

  • You will perform machine mechanical repairs/setups and process trouble shooting
  • You will participate in new machine setups and startups
  • You will conduct equipment mechanical /process audits
  • You will perform evaluation and enhancements to customers’ existing assets and processes
  • You will participate in customer performance runs
  • You will perform customer training (Process/machine setups)
  • You will conduct or participate in training at customer sites
  • You will develop / perform preventative maintenance task
  • You will develop CIL’s (clean, inspect, lube) for new and existing equipment
  • You will develop machine SOP/CBA (current best approach)
  • Development of product centerlines
  • You will participate in machine checkouts in Italy and North America
  • You will participate in offering our customers modifications/tips to improve machine runnability
  • Assist customers on machine setups for new products
  • You may be assigned special projects
  • You will work closely with the Sales team
  • You will participate in pilot line trials when needed 
  • You will conduct pre and post visit planning and reporting
  • You will perform customer proactive calls
  • You will be responsible for project planning
  • You will perform customer visit follow ups with spares, service office and engineering
  • You will complete audit documentation
  • You will complete training documentation


Your profile

  • You have obtained at least 10 years of experience specifically in the tissue converting industry with mechanical/ process experience
  • You have strong analytical trouble shooting skills
  • You have strong comprehension of mechanical drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics 
  • You understand web handling
  • You understand paper attributes
  • You are passionate about customer service and continuous improvement
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • You are strong in building and motivating teams without formal line authority
  • You hold a valid driver’s license
  • You have the ability to travel up to 60% within Canada, USA and abroad.
  • Must speak French and English
  • Great interaction skills with co-workers and customers
  • The ideal candidate is based in the Montreal area to support the growing customer base in that region. Open to other areas that have close proximity to a major airport.
