Java Software Engineer - Material Flow Systems (m/f/d)
- Develop and maintain software applications that control and optimize automated parcel sorting systems and logistics hubs.
- You will be part of a team that designs, implements, delivers and supports software applications for major parcel carriers
- Optimize software for maximum speed and scalability, implementing efficient algorithms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues, ensuring a smooth and seamless user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the development process when appropriate.
- Contribute to improvement efforts within the development team.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered;
- Java is your primary development language, and you bring at least one year of hands-on experience.
- Experience with other object-oriented programming languages, such as C# or C++, is also considered an asset;
- You have successfully developed and delivered your own software projects, whether professionally, academically, or personally;
- You bring experience developing and/or deploying applications in Kubernetes-based environments;
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and object-oriented design principles;
- You are familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation concepts;
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills enable you to perform effectively in complex and dynamic environments;
- Experience in logistics, warehouse automation, industrial automation, or material flow systems is an advantage;
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken;
- You are a proactive team player with strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in an international environment while demonstrating autonomy, flexibility, and ownership of your work;
- You are willing to travel occasionally to customer sites worldwide and to team meetings in Portugal and Germany (typically less than 10% of working time).
