Global Key Account Manager

With a strong presence in North America and Europe, we are dedicated to providing top-tier solutions to our customers. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Global Key Account Manager to lead our business relationship with one of our premiere customers across North America and Europe.

Position Overview:

As a Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) at Körber, you will hold a critical leadership role responsible for nurturing and expanding the business relationship with one of our key customers across North America and Europe. This role involves achieving quarterly goals, driving new business opportunities, and fostering collaboration among internal and external teams.

While the role is considered REMOTE, you will be located near a major airport/some of the locations of our customer within the US. This is a very high-visibility role which reports directly into our Global SVP of Sales in Germany but will also have direct reports of their own as well as significant interaction with the US team.

Your role in our team

  • You will collaborate across multiple areas of the organization, including global alignment with Services, Operations, Bid Factory, and many others
  • You will be directly responsible for one premiere customer account and serve as a primary point of contact for the customer, addressing inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
  • You will become an industry expert in overall market, competitive analysis, pricing, and players in the field to capitalize on opportunities & profitability and expand market share
  • You will bring innovative ideas and build rapport with external customer across locations/divisions to improve both the relationship and be included in their overall strategy plans moving forward
  • You will travel to customer sites/locations, internal US office, and quarterly meetings
  • You will be responsible for P&L management, bid/quote management, and contract/payment terms negotiation
  • You will develop customer strategy, increased profitability, and new a pro-active approach to obtain new opportunities
  • You will identify and drive new business opportunities, ensuring a robust sales pipeline
  • You will achieve and exceed quarterly goals from both a P&L and new business revenue standpoint
  • You will network with industry professionals and potential partners by attending trade shows, conferences, and other industry events
  • You will provide regular reports and updates to the Global SVP of Sales in Germany and the US team

 

Your skills and experience

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • You have a minimum 8-10 years of experience and knowledge in technical sales and 4-5 years of management experience is preferred ; previous logistics/parcel experience, manufacturing, or similar preferred
  • You have experience across strategic planning, execution of sales strategy, account management, and entering into new markets and/or company divisions
  • You have a proven track record of successfully managing global key accounts and driving revenue growth
  • You have relationship management and networking experience
  • You have team management and people development experience
  • You feel comfortable working in a fast growing and paced environment working across many groups and geographies
  • You are a highly skilled negotiator with both financial and analytical ability
  • You have the ability to travel, potentially 50% or more
  • You have the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • You have advanced PC skills, including knowledge of CRM, Excel, and more
  • You have strong knowledge of global and regional logistics/parcel operations and industry
  • You have strong proficiency in determining logistics/parcel requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets
  • You hvae the ability to effectively present information to customers, top management, public groups, and more
