We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager with substantial expertise in the automation industry, focusing on fabrication processes such as laser cutting, CNC brake presses, and welding. This role demands a strategic leader who is proficient in Lean Management, Continuous Improvement Programs, line balancing, plant productivity improvements, and maintenance. The successful candidate will oversee the engineering team, drive significant advancements in operational efficiency, and ensure top-tier process quality and safety.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will design and implement robust manufacturing processes for laser cutting, CNC operations, and welding, ensuring these processes meet quality standards and are cost-efficient.
  • You will lead the setup of new manufacturing plants, including layout planning, equipment selection, and workflow organization to optimize production lines. Incorporate advanced automation technologies to enhance efficiency and throughput.
  • You will conduct comprehensive make-buy analyses to determine in-house manufacturing versus outsourcing decisions based on cost, quality, and capacity considerations.
  • You will implement and lead Lean practices and continuous improvement programs to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • You will optimize production lines through effective line balancing techniques, focusing on maximizing throughput and reducing bottlenecks.
  • You will develop and oversee a comprehensive maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment, particularly automated systems, operates at peak efficiency, minimizing downtime.
  • You will implement stringent quality control measures and continuous monitoring systems to reduce defects and ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • You will oversee projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and up to quality standards.
  • You will manage and develop the manufacturing engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • You will perform thorough process safety risk assessments, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain high standards of workplace safety.
  • You will oversee and enhance process quality systems to ensure products meet or exceed manufacturing standards and customer expectations.

 

Your profile

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in engineering or manufacturing management is preferred.
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically in a fabrication environment utilizing laser cutting, CNC brake presses, and welding technologies, with a significant focus on automation.
  • You have demonstrated expertise in Lean Management, Continuous Improvement Programs, line balancing, and plant productivity initiatives.
  • You have proven experience in setting up and optimizing manufacturing plants and assembly lines, with a strong emphasis on integrating automation technologies.
  • You have strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of make-buy decision processes and risk assessments in process safety.
  • You have demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • You have excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • You are proficient in CAD/CAM software and understanding of ERP systems.
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across different departments.

This is a full-time, exempt role onsite. You have the ability to work in a manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to loud noise, machinery, and require the wearing of personal protective equipment. The physical demands physically inspecting plant operations, which may involve standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
