The Senior Estimator will support the Bid Management Team in developing customer proposals by managing bids, leading pricing efforts, and coordinating proposal timelines. This role will collaborate closely with Engineering, Electrical Estimating, Proposal Management, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive bids. In addition, this person will be responsible for analyzing supplier proposals, identifying cost factors, and collaborating with suppliers to negotiate best-value agreements. This role involves compiling detailed reports and using software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

Your role in our team

  • You will work closely with Applications Engineers, Electrical Estimators, and Proposal Managers throughout the bid process
  • You will develop pricing from inputs received from engineering, PM, sub suppliers, and customer specs
  • You will host internal meetings regarding bid status and pricing
  • You will complete customer required pricing forms
  • You will identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses
  • You will aid the proposal manager in creating proposals for both product and integration bids
  • You will aid procurement in developing subcontractor RFQ packages
  • You will conduct internal and external customer meetings as required to facilitate the bid process
  • You will work with multiple departments during bid and handoff phases
  • You will compile and present detailed reports, including cost-estimating findings to internal leaders
  • You will maintain organized documentation for all bids
  • You will support multiple client projects with a range of $100K - $450M
  • You will support and/or develop process and tool improvement initiatives

Your profile 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or greater in an engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You have 4+ years of experience in cost estimation and budgeting, or a related role
  • You have familiarity with supply chain management software
  • You are proficient in the Microsoft office suite of products
  • You have been working knowledge in using such programs as AutoCAD and Navisworks
  • You have proficient in Data Analysis software
  • You have strong negotiation skills, and are highly attentive to details
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have strong ability to manage multiple opportunities occurring at once
  • You possess excellent analytical skills.
  • You are available to travel up to 25%
