Your role in our team:

As Head of Quality, Environment, Health & Safety, Sustainability, you will lead the strategic and operational management of Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and ESG initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing assets, equipment, and production processes meet international standards, legal requirements, and the company’s long-term sustainability goals. It is also responsible for all ISO Systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Oversee the technical compliance and performance of factory machinery. Ensure that equipment maintenance (preventive and predictive) is aligned with quality output requirements
•    Manage the calibration schedules for all measuring instruments and testing equipment to guarantee production accuracy and legal metrology compliance
•    Supervise end-to-end quality inspections, from raw material reception to final product testing
•    Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures or production defects, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste
•    Apply Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to improve factory efficiency while maintaining high quality standards
•    Drive a proactive safety culture across the shop floor to prevent workplace accidents
•    Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all industrial tasks and machinery operations
•    Ensure all machinery meets safety directives (e.g., CE marking, machine guarding) and that operators are fully trained
•    Lead the company's sustainability roadmap, focusing on carbon footprint reduction and circular economy initiatives in the factory
•    Monitor and optimize energy and water consumption, as well as industrial waste management
•    Prepare sustainability reports according to international frameworks like GRI or CDP
•    Maintain and improve the Integrated Management System based on ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Safety)
•    Plan and execute internal and external audits to ensure continuous compliance across all factory units

Your profile:

•    Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
•    Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality and Health & Safety leadership roles within supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial environments
•    Advanced degree or relevant certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, NEBOSH, etc.) preferred
•    Professional certifications in Quality and Safety Management are an advantage
•    Strong knowledge of Portuguese legislation and international standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.)
•    Proven ability to lead audits and implement compliance programs
