Your role in our team
Withing Körber Supply Chain Automation, the Advanced Technology Integration team is a small group that focusses on bringing new, innovative technology into Körber’s solutions. Typically, these would be robotic based, such as mobile robot Goods to Person picking solutions.
The objective of this role is to enable the new unit to develop, design and sell automated material handling solutions.
The solution engineer understands market trends, technology trends and customer’s requirements to create competitive solutions for potential customers. In addition, the solution engineer will work with the product management team to create new generic solutions as part the solution development roadmap.
Furthermore, the solution engineer will support colleagues in KSCA for projects with relevant technology.
Key Responsibilities

Keep track of new developments in the market, for robotics based material handling technology. Understand the trends and capabilities of this technology.

Analyse customer’s logistics requirements, both from a process perspective as based on in-depth data analysis.

Create and benchmark conceptual solution ideas to fulfil these requirements, based on the product portfolio of selected partners/suppliers, complemented with relevant KSC products.

Perform performance calculations to determine the right type, configuration and quantity of equipment, considering company guidelines for solution dimensioning.

Create CAD layouts for the solution, including 3D’s.

Calculate the total costs of the solution. When necessary, collect input from other departments or suppliers to correctly configure and price equipment or services.

Write (parts of) the proposal for the customer, make presentations and (with the sales manager) present these to customers.
Your profile

Successfully graduated from Mechanical engineering or Mechatronics or other technical studies with bachelors or master’s degree

Alternatively, a study in Logistics, Business Administration or Technical Management (with some engineering or analytics content) can be considered

Ideally 2 to 4 years previous experience in the material handling industry. Starters with the right education, relevant internships or demonstratable affinity to the subject will be considered too.

Business fluent English. German would be a plus

Good working knowledge of CAD systems, i.e AutoCad, Inventor, Sketch-up

Strong analytical skills. Proficient with MS Excel and ideally also with PowerBI.

Affinity with automation and software (i.e. WMS, WCS)
