PLC Programmer R&D (m/f/d)
We are looking for a PLC Software Engineer to join our Automation Engineering team. Joining a team of approximately 10 automation specialists, you will play a key role in developing, standardizing, and commissioning innovative intralogistics solutions. Working within an international engineering organization, you will collaborate with colleagues across different countries and disciplines to drive harmonized software solutions, share best practices, and shape the future of our automation platform.
Your role:
- Develop PLC software independently and collaboratively for innovative intralogistics and material handling systems.
- Actively contribute to the further development, harmonization, and standardization of our automation software platforms.
- Take technical ownership of software solutions and support the definition and implementation of engineering standards and best practices.
- Create technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing content to support our global engineering organization.
- Collaborate closely with software development, electrical engineering, project management, service, and product development teams to deliver sustainable automation solutions.
- Support project teams in identifying and implementing optimal technical solutions while serving as a trusted contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
Your profile:
- You hold a degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, you have completed a technical apprenticeship complemented by further professional training.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and commissioning of intralogistics, warehouse automation, storage and retrieval machines and conveyor systems.
- You possess strong expertise with Siemens TIA Portal, ideally including Integrated Safety concepts.
- Experience with industrial drive technology, preferably SEW, and industrial communication networks such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, CAN, and IO-Link.
- You have contributed to the development, maintenance, and governance of software standards and engineering methodologies.
- You are familiar with project management principles and can coordinate technical activities across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, or team development is considered a strong advantage.
- You are characterized by a structured working style, strong communication skills, customer focus, and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to travel locally or internationally (approximately 20% of your working time).
