Reinforcement Learning and Adaptive Controls Expert (m/f/d)
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Reinforcement Learning & Adaptive Controls Expert to join our Robotics & Autonomous Systems team and develop advanced control software for industrial machines and automation systems. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge solutions leveraging reinforcement learning, model predictive control, machine vision, and Physical AI technologies to optimize machine performance and enable intelligent decision-making in dynamic industrial environments.
Your role:
- Develop and implement advanced control methods using reinforcement learning, model predictive control (MPC), and optimization techniques for industrial automation systems.
- Design, develop, and validate software for industrial machine control in simulation, software-in-the-loop, and real-time environments.
- Integrate control, learning, and vision-based models into machine software to enable robust deployment from simulation to real-world applications.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies in reinforcement learning, machine vision, adaptive control systems, and sim-to-real transfer.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across machine control, system architecture, robotics, and mechatronics to deliver innovative solutions.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation Physical AI solutions for industrial automation and material handling systems.
- Support testing, validation, deployment, and continuous improvement of intelligent control applications.
Your profile:
- Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Reinforcement Learning, Model Predictive Control, Machine Vision, Intelligent Control Systems, or related domains.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with simulation platforms such as Nvidia Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Unity, or similar environments.
- Hands-on programming skills in Python and C++.
- Understanding of control software architectures, optimization algorithms, and real-time machine interfaces.
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, and Docker is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a structured, result-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (25%) for collaboration with international teams, partners, and customers.
