Your role in our team

This position offers a unique opportunity to have a hands-on experience in environmental and health & safety. The Management Systems & QEH&S Engineer will be an active part in the develop a QEH&S culture that values and promotes a quality, safe and healthy working and living environment, acting as a behaviour change agent for individuals and groups within the organization, ensuring the continuous improvement across the Company.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the QEH&S Management, including visits to workplaces, projects / works, to identify hazards, assess and control risks, manage documentation, identify associated training needs, and identify and assess environmental aspects and impacts per project /site, support in the preparation and validation of the EH&S Plans;
  • Ensure follow-up to projects on issues related to quality, environment, and safety;
  • Work together with the various business areas / departments of the Company to ensure follow-up and continuous improvement on QEH&S management system and alignment with the reference standards;
  • Carry out the investigation of incidents and accidents at work and define and propose action plans;
  • Define the appropriate PPE for the tasks;
  • Ensure implementation of fire safety measures such as means of detection and extinction, definition, and training of emergency equipment, conduct of drills, etc., for the safety of occupants and facilities;
  • Provide training in the QEH&S areas;
  • Accompany and participate, when necessary, in the actions and activities included in the QEH&S audit program;
  • Ensure the identification and implementation of legal provisions on environment and safety;
  • Define methodologies and implement actions for risk assessment and evaluation of environmental impacts;
  • Ensure conformity with compliance issues, namely ensuring observance with legal obligations and with internal and external regulations imposed on the Company's activities;
  • Support the development of reports and management information analysis.

 

Your Profile

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Certified Health & Safety Officer
  • Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) technical competencies as Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification, Safety Management Systems, Emergency Preparedness and Response as well as Personal Protective Equipment, Training and Communication and Accident Investigation and Reporting
  • Preferably, Pedagogical Competences Certificate (PCC)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong interest in occupational safety
  • Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
