Your role in our team
- Manage a team of qualified professionals working in a complex environment, ensuring their development, growth and motivation
- Act as a lead PLC engineer within an international software and commissioning team, taking ownership of key responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with project management to ensure the successful execution of PLC software projects within defined cost, quality, and timeline parameters.
- Support quotation managers by estimating project-specific software adaptations and implementations, especially when expert technical input is required, contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of our PLC software modules.
Main Responabilities:
- Take a leading role in complex automation projects through project-specific software development, application of standardized PLC modules, and commissioning.
- Lead the application and continuous improvement of our standard software library and internal engineering toolchain.
- Create specifications and technical documentation for complex project-specific developments, PLC software implementations, and commissioning activities.
- Define complex software functionality during the design phase and coordinate technical interfaces with third-party systems.
- Perform and guide on-site commissioning at customer locations according to company standards, from system integration to customer acceptance.
- Conduct and prepare customer training sessions on PLC-related topics within the scope of our projects.
- Use your deep technical expertise during commissioning to provide valuable feedback for the engineering phase and take a leading role in the continuous improvement of our PLC standards.
- Execute and lead software tests during the development phase using our internal testbench.
Your Profile:
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively, vocational training in industrial automation.
- More than 7 years of experience in PLC software development, project execution, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Proven track record in delivering complex automation software projects, ideally in the logistics sector – preferably with conveyor systems, or alternatively in industrial automation.
- Expert knowledge of software development using SIMATIC TIA Portal, with a strong understanding of PLC software and system architecture.
- Extensive experience in commissioning and excellent familiarity with the SIMATIC hardware product range, especially the S7-series PLCs.
- Strong expertise in failsafe and safety programming.
- Expert-level understanding of common industrial bus systems such as Ethernet, PROFINET, AS-i Bus, and CAN Bus.
- Extensive experience with SEW drive control systems.
- Extensive experience with SIMATIC HMI systems.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required;
- Strong teamwork and intercultural competence, reliability, independence, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Willigness to travel Internationally
