Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to manage key strategic accounts and relationships, establish new business opportunities, develop and sell mail, service, and digital solutions whilst supporting the Business Development Director in account level activities. This role is crucial for driving growth and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Your role in our team
- Service Existing Accounts and Establish New Ones: You will service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing your daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors. Your focus on growth and cultural fit will be key in building long-lasting relationships.
- Partner with the Customer: You will partner with the customer to such an extent that you are immersed in their operations, becoming an expert in their needs and processes. This deep integration will enable you to provide tailored solutions that drive mutual growth.
- Develop Market Penetration Strategies: You will lead all aspects of developing strategies for profitable penetration into new or existing market segments, using your industry knowledge and market trends to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
- Monitor Competition: You will monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques, ensuring our offerings remain competitive and attractive.
- Drive New Program Ideas: You will lead and drive new program ideas that result in profitable market strategies, utilizing your understanding of industry solutions to innovate and meet evolving market demands.
- Coordinate and Collaborate: You will coordinate and collaborate with other businesses, functions, and global teams to plan and execute account strategies, leveraging your extensive industry experience.
- Execute Account Plans: You will lead the development and execution of account plans to ensure the achievement of assigned business goals within key accounts and/or markets. Your strategic mindset and growth orientation will be essential in hitting targets.
- Collaboration on Proposals: You will work closely with out Bid Management team to develop pricing strategies and solutions for the customer, ensuring that proposals are both competitive and aligned with customer needs.
Your Profile
- Complex Selling Environment: You have demonstrated success in effectively managing in a complex, conceptual selling environment, particularly within the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or Warehousing & Automation (W&A) solutions sector.
- Industry-Related Sales Management Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of successful sales management experience within the MHE or W&A industry, showcasing your ability to understand and address the unique challenges and opportunities within this field.
- Deal Negotiation and Closing: You have a proven track record in identifying, negotiating, and closing profitable deals that minimize exposure to risk
- Innovative Solutions: You have demonstrated innovation in generating and leading the implementation of total solutions (products/services, 3rd party alliances) and market opportunities, focusing on growth and leveraging your industry experience.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: You possess excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills, enabling you to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Customer Service and Relationship Building: You are committed to outstanding customer service and able to build solid client relationships as a trusted partner, fostering long-term growth and loyalty.
- Negotiation Skills: You possess exceptional negotiation skills, crucial for closing high-value deals within the industry
- Presentation Tools Proficiency: You are an advanced user of presentation tools (e.g. MS PowerPoint) and able to present to a variety of audiences, including C-Level executives
- CRM Utilization: You have experience tracking sales leads utilizing a CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ensuring a structured and efficient sales process.
- Extensive Experience: You have 10+ years of proven successful experience, including marketing and business development to Operations personnel up to C-level executives, with a strong focus on MHE solutions.
- Travel Willingness: You must be willing to travel (50+%) to meet with clients and stakeholders, ensuring a hands-on approach to business development and relationship management.

- Your annual base pay range for this role is estimated to be $80,000 - $120,000 (CAD) at the time of posting and includes a maximum bonus of 35%
