The WCS Software Engineer’s role is to work with a WCS (Warehouse Controls Software) system that capture requirements, design, develop and support technical solutions. The engineer may periodically travel as part of a team to Koerber Automation sites and work on live systems, in various types of work environments. The role includes live code and database changes, enhancements, configuration and support of projects.

 

 

Your role in our team 

  • Program new or enhanced capabilities based on requirement specifications
  • Test code and prove quality and accuracy before deployment
  • Commit to delivery deadlines based on estimations and project schedule needs
  • Analyze existing code for troubleshooting and/or opportunity for enhancement
  • Analyze software logging and making system changes in the DB, UI, or Code
  • You will take part in research to identify opportunities and implement new technology when appropriate
  • When on site will require to walk around the automation systems and may require manual movements to aid in testing such as cutting pallet strapping/wrapping
  • You will travel up to 25%

 

Your profile 

  • You have a college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including Java, C#, and DBeaver
  • Your relational database experience, Oracle or SQL Server is preferred
  • You understand coding methods and best practices
  • You understand platforms such as Linux or Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment and deliver results to meet timelines
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • You are highly self-motivated and directed
  • You are able to work with and follow all OSHA regulations and customer work environment rules when on site
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 

Eligible applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
