The Applications Engineer will work alongside other bid team members to design, price, and propose opportuntites to our customers. This role will be responsible for among other things, concepting and manifests required to bid integration and products.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will support the full bid development process from RFP receipt through proposal submission, including vendor RFQs and writing technical Statements of Work
  • You will lead material handling system design efforts using client data and requirements to solve operational challenges, improve efficiency, and support end-user needs
  • You will demonstrate subject matter expertise in material handling equipment, system technologies, and operational processes to ensure optimal solution selection
  • You will provide technical leadership during the sales phase, presenting Körber’s capabilities and building client trust through industry-leading solutions
  • You will create and document the Basis of Design and Description of Operations, ensuring mechanical designs align with electrical control capabilities
  • You will collaborate with clients to develop weighted Selection Criteria Matrices that drive optimal solutions for both end users and Körber
  • You will support projects ranging from $100K to $250M by participating in internal and external meetings and providing mechanical input for simulation and emulation testing
  • You will transition awarded projects to execution teams by working closely with operations to ensure a successful handoff and project delivery

 

Your profile

  • You are familiar with our core customer’s specifications and have strong ability to document technical decisions with illustrations and clear verbal explanations
  • You are proficient in automation layout and design with AutoCAD 2D and Navisworks
  • You have a working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and drafting
  • You have a basic understanding of automation controls and an interest in cross-discipline responsibilities
  • You always strive for high quality output to exceed your customers’ expectations
  • You are able to travel - 25%

 

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • At least three years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
