The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for converting sales system concepts into detailed project specific system and equipment designs. This role has the responsibility to coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure overall system design fit and functionality aligns with end user and project requirements.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will convert conceptual solutions into detailed system designs, integrating material handling technology and equipment to meet system and end-user requirements
  • You will develop system layouts and detailed drawing packages to lead equipment installation activities and resolve conflicts between equipment designs and warehouse/building structures
  • You will understand the functionalities of material handling technologies within the Körber product portfolio and the broader warehouse and automation industry
  • You will coordinate design reviews and meetings with internal engineering, site installation teams, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress
  • You will collaborate with electrical and control engineering disciplines to ensure system design functionality and integration
  • You will monitor system design costs, maintain engineering timelines, and support scope change estimates to align with project budgets and schedules
  • You will identify and escalate design, delivery, and functionality risks, while also creating equipment order requests and recommending spare parts to mitigate downtime
  • You can travel 10% to project sites

 

Your profile

  • You have obtained a bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and 5 years of project engineering experience in the warehouse and automation industry. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of project engineering experience in the warehouse and automation industry.
  • You are an expert in designing large-scale warehouse and automation systems (>$10M), incorporating technologies such as palletizing/depalletizing, pallet storage and retrieval, and conveyance systems
  • You are proficient in developing system layouts and detailed installation drawing packages using AutoCAD or similar tools
  • You are skilled in integrating multiple material handling technologies into cohesive system designs
  • You have experience in creating material flow and rate diagrams, and in defining and sizing equipment based on operational requirements
  • You have a deep understanding of the warehouse automation industry and the Körber product portfolio
  • You understand how to track and manage project financial budgets and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
